About ENVIROCERT

Who we are

Envirocert is a Romanian company specialized in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) consulting and EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification for construction materials manufacturers. We started operating in 2024 with a clear mission: to give Romanian construction materials manufacturers access to EPD certification at the technical standards required by European markets — a service that, until recently, was practically inaccessible without relying on foreign external consultants.

Our position in the market

Envirocert currently has the highest number of published EPD certificates among companies with a similar profile active in Romania. The EPDs produced with our contribution are published on EPD Hub — a program operator officially recognized by ECO Platform (since December 2025) — and are listed in ECO Portal, the international registry used by architects, developers and public procurers across Europe.

An EPD obtained through Envirocert is not a local document. It is a certificate recognized in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the other EU member states where EN 15804 is already a requirement in tenders and sustainable construction projects.

The person behind Envirocert — Stefan Cosuta

Envirocert is led by Stefan Cosuta, LCA consultant and founder of the company.

Before founding Envirocert, Stefan gained hands-on experience in Romania’s construction materials industry. This experience from inside factories and production processes is a concrete advantage: we understand how a production line actually works, what data is realistically available, and how a manufacturer’s reality translates into the parameters of a rigorous LCA study.

That is precisely why we approach every project starting from the client’s primary data, not from default values in generic databases — which is what makes the difference between an EPD that withstands external audit and one that raises questions.

What we actually do

Every EPD produced by Envirocert goes through:

Collecting primary data directly from the manufacturer (energy consumption, raw materials, waste, transport)

LCA modeling with internationally certified databases — Ecoinvent, ÖKOBAUDAT

Rigorous compliance with EN 15804+A2, ISO 14025, ISO 14040/14044

Independent third-party verification

Publication in international registries: EPD Hub / ECO Platform

Who we work with

We work with construction materials manufacturers who:

export or intend to export to the EU and need an internationally recognized EPD

take part in public tenders where product sustainability is an evaluation criterion

supply materials for BREEAM or LEED certified projects

are preparing for compliance with EU Regulation 2024/3110 and the Digital Product Passport

The EPDs produced with Envirocert’s contribution are publicly available at epdhub.com and eco-platform.org.
